“Looking forward to the unveiling of the new Audi RS3. 2.5L five-cylinder turbocharged engine, 4WD & 335Bhp. See it at Frankfurt Motor Show” was published on Twitter, and it is still unclear if it was an information leak or a strategy to churn public interest.
Until recently, Audi was happy to move the A3 into the S version, reserving the RS badge for only the most outstanding models. However, for the past few years, all of the brand’s vehicles have offered an RS version, including the TT.
The new RS3 is expected to be the crown of the A3 line, with a new model likely to be shown at the Geneva Auto Show in 2010. In Frankfurt, the Audi will also unveil an R8 convertible and an electric version of the supercar called e-tron.
