Katherine Heigl, 30, is taking a break from Grey’s Anatomy to star in the romantic comedy Life as We Know It, reports People.
ABC did not specify the expected length of Heigl’s absence, but EW.com claims that Heigl will be missing for 8 of the series’ episodes this season.
A rep for ABC stated, “Katherine is taking time off to film a movie. The producers at Grey’s have accommodated past things like that before.”
Heigl’s absence from the show will begin this month, and insiders say she’ll be back to work in November.
