Wood, who was the DJ’s girlfriend, agreed to an exclusive interview with Us Weekly after her boyfriend was found dead in his New York apartment on August 28.
"Any indication that this horribly tragic accident happened because of a rumored breakup is not only untrue but disgusting. We were very much together at the time of his passing, and I love him very much," stated the 22-year-old.
The tabloid claims, however, that the couple broke up two weeks before his death, after nearly a year of dating.
Moreover, prior to his death, DJ AM had promised his manager that he would return to California for detox treatment, according to the New York Post.
