The actor broke his hand in an accident at his home in Italy. The media in Europe had been reporting that Clooney was involved in a motorcycle accident, but the star’s rep, Stan Rosenfield, explained the true story to People magazine.
"There was an accident and he did break his hand. He was not riding a motorcycle, it was not in Switzerland … He was on his property in Italy and he shut the car door on his hand," said Rosenfield.
The actor was treated at a medical clinic in Switzerland, just 40 minutes from his home.
Clooney was involved in a motorcycle accident two years ago with his former girlfriend, Sarah Larson. The actor suffered a few bruises and a broken rib, while Larson suffered a fractured foot.
