Sarandon is currently in negotiations with 20th Century Fox to star in the Wall Street sequel, entitled Money Never Sleeps.
According to Variety, the actress would play the mother of Shia LaBeouf’s character. LaBeouf will play a young Wall Street player, influenced by Gordon Gekko (played by Michael Douglas).
The film will also star Carey Mulligan and Frank Langella. Oliver Stone, who co-wrote the original film in 1987, will be directing the sequel. The project will begin shooting next month in New York.
In the meantime, we can see Susan Sarandon in the Peter Jackson film, The Lovely Bones, opening on December 11.
