A Seattle woman is accusing the magician of sexually attacking her during her stay as a guest at Copperfield’s home on a private island in the Bahamas.
Copperfield’s lawyers, Angelo Calfo and Patty Eakes, deny the allegations made against their client, adding that the case is simply a ploy for money.
At the moment, no criminal charges have been filed. The 22-year-old woman, who was a Miss Washington USA contestant, says that she met Copperfield, 52, in January 2007 at an event in Kennewick, Washington. She was invited to his home later that same year. The lawsuit was filed on July 29 in Seattle.
