A Role for Robert Downey Jr. to Sink His Teeth Into

Hollywood would love to make a sequel to Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles with Robert Downey Jr.

The success of Twilight has caught the attention of Hollywood producers, and now everyone wants to make a vampire flick.

The Anne Rice book series, The Vampire Chronicles, produced the 1994 film Interview With a Vampire and Queen of the Damned in 2002.  Now, it seems that the film franchise might come back from the dead.

According to Bloody-Disgusting.com, Universal Pictures has already approached Robert Downey Jr. to play the lead role, Lestat of Lioncourt, which had been played by Tom Cruise and Stuart Townsend in earlier films.

Robert Downey Jr. will be starring in Sherlock Holmes, opening Christmas Day, and also in Iron Man 2, which hits theatres on May 7, 2010.
