Martha Wainwright’s Next Album

Journal Voir has learned that the singer’s next album will be paying tribute to Edith Piaf.

The disc is set for a release this fall, and was recorded live at a New York concert.

The idea came about when producer Hal Willner was looking for a non-French artist that could express herself in French.

Wainwright features 16 songs on the album.

The singer will be making a stop in Montreal for the Francofolies festival, and will be giving a show at the Théâtre Maisonneuve on August 5.
