According to Star magazine, Richie plans to name her unborn child Michael in honour of the late star.
The adopted daughter of legendary pop singer, Lionel Richie, was very close to Jackson before his untimely death last month.
Friends of the star have revealed that Richie is determined to honour her late friend by naming her second child either Michael or Michelle. A source stated, "Nicole is devastated by Michael’s death. She loved him and it happened so suddenly. She wasn’t planning on naming the baby after him, but she thinks it’s fitting now that he’s gone."
Richie and her boyfriend, Joel Madden, are expecting their new baby this fall. The two are already parents to a one-year-old daughter, Harlow.
