Winehouse appeared in court yesterday (July 23) to respond to assault charges pressed by dancer Sherene Flash.
Last September, during a charity event, the singer reportedly punched Flash in the face, which prompted the dancer to file a complaint. The singer pleaded not guilty to the allegations, and explained herself by saying that she was scared, reports People.
Flash had asked Winehouse to pose with her backstage, but the singer was supposedly frightened when another friend of Flash’s tried to get into the picture, causing Winehouse to flee. "She was pretty much leaning on me. She’s a big girl. She was being overly presumptuous. I’m not Mickey Mouse. I’m a human being. I wanted her away from me," said Winehouse.
According to Flash’s attorney, the pop star’s actions were deliberate and unjustifiable.
