According to The Hollywood Reporter, Wiseman (Live Free or Die Hard, Underworld) will develop and direct the film version of the novel Shrapnel.
The science-fiction story takes place in the future where humans have colonized the solar system. The Alliance is formed to govern the solar planets, and the focus is on Venus, where the galaxy’s last rebels are kept. Tensions mount when a former Marine teaches them how to fight.
Because the novel is so graphic, the film may be produced in 3D. Zombie Studios also plans to launch a video game based on the story.
Len Wiseman will also be directing Motorcade and Gears of War. Release dates have not been announced for either film.
