Tragedy Strikes Madonna’s Tour

A part of Madonna’s stage equipment fell down, killing two people and injuring nine in France.

A tragic accident occurred at the Vélodrome stadium in Marseille, France, when a team was assembling the stage for Madonna’s show scheduled for this Sunday (July 19).

The incident happened yesterday (July 16), when a part of the stage collapsed.  Charles Criscenzo, a 53-year-old man from France, was killed, and nine others were taken to hospital to be treated for injuries.  Another stage tech, Charles Prow, 32, died during the night.

Madonna was deeply saddened upon hearing the news. "I am devastated to have just received this tragic news. My prayers go out to those who were injured and their families, along with my deepest sympathy to all those affected by this heartbreaking news," said the singer.

The cause of the accident remains unknown for the moment. Barricades have since been set up around the stage.
