When photos of the video shoot began to circulate, it became obvious that the songstress was targeting the famous rapper, especially judging by the Eminem-character’s attire in the video. However, Carey claims that the song is not about anyone in particular.
In the Obsessed video, the singer stars as herself, and Slim Shady, Eminem’s alter ego, is seen as a stalker, taking up jobs as a chauffeur and a photographer’s assistant to get closer to her.
The story of Carey and Eminem began in 2001, when they briefly dated while the singer was working on her Charmbracelet album.
