Renee Zellweger to Return as Bridget Jones

Renee Zellweger will be returning to her role as Bridget Jones for the third time.

Zellweger will have to put on a few pounds to get back into her skin as Bridget Jones, reports Variety. The actress is gearing up to play the hopeless romantic klutz in the third film of the series.

This time, the story will focus on a 40-year-old Bridget whose biological clock is ticking against the sands of time. The film will once again be based on Helen Fielding’s weekly column in Britain’s The Independent.

Zellweger was nominated for an Oscar in 2001 for Bridget Jones’s Diary. She next resumed her famous role in 2004’s Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason.

It is still unknown whether Colin Firth and Hugh Grant are on board the cast of the new adventure.
