Julian Casablancas Goes Solo

Strokes singer Julian Casablancas is getting ready to release his debut solo album.

The singer is set to drop his first solo album in the fall.

Entitled Phrazes for the Young, the disc features eight Casablancas-penned songs, including River of Brake Lights, Ludlow St. and Glass.

Rolling Stone revealed that the album was recorded over the course of the past year, and was produced by Jason Lader (Jay-Z, Coldplay, Gwen Stefani.)

In the past, other Strokes members have also brought forth their own solo material. Guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. made two albums, bassist Nikolai Fraiture released an album last year under the name of Nickel Eye, and drummer Fabrizio Moretti worked on a disc with his friends from Little Joy.

Casablancas is expected to announce upcoming American concert dates soon.
