Gruffudd (Fantastic Four, W) will star in the biography flick about Kenneth Grahame, entitled Banking on Mr. Toad.
Samantha Morton (Synecdoche, New York, Elizabeth: The Golden Age) is also in talks to play the author’s wife, Elspeth.
The film tells the story of the children’s book author who published the famous book The Wind in the Willows in 1908. It will also follow his relationship with his autistic son.
Bruce Beresford (Paradise Road, The Contract) is set to direct, and filming will begin later this year in Ireland.
Meanwhile, Gruffudd will star in the drama The Kid, which does not yet have a release date.
