The Puerto Rican actor interrupted his vacation in the Carribean to visit inmates at the Bayamon Regional Prison located outside the city of San Juan in Puerto Rico, reports Access Hollywood.
The star offered advice to inmates involved in the the local theatre and talked about his own career. Del Toro said to the prisoners, "I believe everyone needs a second chance."
The Oscar winner also encouraged the inmates to read during their incarceration, telling them that reading was crucial for him to grow as an actor.
The prisoners then performed a sketch for Del Toro and thanked him for coming.
