Rumours were circulating that Dr. George O’Malley on Grey’s Anatomy, played by T. R. Knight, would not be coming back for the sixth season, and now the news has been confirmed.
According to UsMagazine.com, the show’s producer, ABC, finally ended its contract with the 36-year-old actor. Shonda Rhimes, the creator of Grey’s Anatomy, had until June 30 to decide whether or not Knight’s character would stay.
In the fifth season’s cliff hanger, the audience was led to believe that George O’Malley died following a grave accident.
As for Knight’s upcoming projects, Entertainment Weekly reported that the actor is in talks to star in Lend Me a Tenor, set to hit Broadway in 2010.
