The New York Daily News has learned that the Piano Man singer and his wife of the last five years, Katie Lee, are separating. "This decision is the result of much thought and consideration. Billy and Katie remain caring friends, with admiration and respect for each other," said Claire Mercuri, spokesperson for the couple.
For the last several months, rumours have been circulating that the couple was breaking up, and several tabloids have reported seeing 27-year-old Lee with designer Yigal Azrouel at several public events.
The 60-year-old singer’s rep maintains that Azrouel is just a family friend.
