Brown’s lawyers have asked the California Supreme Court to postpone the singer’s trial, after he was accused of assaulting his girlfriend, singer Rihanna, during a dispute that erupted on February 7, 2009.
This is the second time that Mark Geragos, who represents Brown, has tried to push back the preliminary hearings for his client.
Rihanna received a notice of convocation, and is expected to deliver her version of the facts in court, so that the judge can determine whether to go forward with proceedings that could lead to Brown’s conviction.
If the delay is granted, Geragos would attempt to get his hands on investigation records to better prepare for his defendant’s case.
