Susan Boyle’s Cinderella Story Ends

England didn’t end up choosing Susan Boyle.

In the highly-awaited finale, Boyle, the Britain’s Got Talent sensation and Internet phenomenon, did not receive the big honours.

The 48-year-old singer, whose surprising debut performance was heard nearly 200 million times on YouTube, took second place, after losing to the young dance group Diversity.

The pride of Blackburn, Scotland had originally been the object of jokes in the beginning, but she won the hearts of spectators around the world when she unleashed her profound vocal talent.

Having been in the constant spotlight and target of the paparazzi since April 11, when she debuted on the show, Boyle has since shown signs of stress and irritation, especially when she lost her cool when an individual had provoked her.

Following the Britain’s Got Talent finale on Saturday, an ambulance rushed to Boyle’s hotel to take her to a private clinic.

The production company revealed that the singer was mentally stressed by the entire experience, and that she would be taking a few days to rest, far away from all the attention she has recently garnered.
