Twilight Wins Big at the MTV Movie Awards

Twilight racked up five awards during the MTV Movie Awards ceremony.

Sunday (May 31), Twilight swept up five awards at the MTV Movie Awards, which was hosted by Andy Samberg at Universal City’s Gibson Amphitheater in California.

Twilight won for best film, while Kristen Stewart took home the trophy for best female performance. Best fight went to Robert Pattinson and Cam Gigandet, Pattinson and Kristen Stewart stole the award for best kiss, and again, Pattinson collected another prize for best breakthrough male performance.

Two High School Musical 3 stars earned trophies last night. Zac Efron won for best male performance, while Ashley Tisdale received the breakthrough female performance award.

Miley Cyrus was given the golden popcorn for her song The Climb, featured in her film Hannah Montana: The Movie. Meanwhile, funny man Jim Carrey was honoured for best comedic performance in Yes Man.

Once again, Heath Ledger was honoured with a posthumous award, winning best villain for his role as the Joker in The Dark Knight.

Finally, the most prestigious award of the night, the MTV Generation Award, was bestowed upon actor Ben Stiller.
