Rihanna Goes to Court

Rihanna will be testifying in the court case  involving her ex, Chris Brown.

The singer will finally testify in court in a preliminary hearing on June 22 on charges of assault against Brown, reported People magazine.

Donald Etra, Rihanna’s lawyer, announced that his client would cooperate and testify as requested by the courts. The singer must also face cross-examination by Brown’s lawyer, Mark Geragos.

On June 22, the court will decide if there is enough evidence against Brown to go to trial.

At a hearing yesterday (May 28), Geragos requested access to police files, in order to determine who leaked a photo of Rihanna taken after Brown’s arrest. However, the judge refused permission, stating that there was no connection with the arrest of his client.

If he is found guilty, Brown’s sentence could range from a simple probation to up to four years and eight months of jail time.
