Will Adam Lambert Be Queen’s New Frontman?

Brian May of Queen is already thinking about teaming up with Adam Lambert.

The 2009 American Idol runner-up, who was expected to grab the winning title, could find himself working for one of the most prestigious rock groups. Judging by what guitarist Brian May said, Lambert could be taking the microphone for Queen.

The band members, who performed on the hit show with Lambert, were blown away by the 27-year-old’s artistic qualities and vocals.

May revealed his thoughts on the Idol star to Rolling Stone magazine, saying, "But [drummer Roger Taylor] and I are definitely hoping to have a meaningful conversation with him at some point. It’s not like we, as Queen, would rush into working with another singer just like that. It isn’t that easy. But I’d certainly like to work with Adam. That is one amazing instrument he has there."

Queen hasn’t had an official singer since the death of Freddie Mercury in 1991. For the past four years, Paul Rodgers, formerly of Bad Company, took on this role, however he was not considered as a permanent fixture in the English band.
