Yesterday evening (May 21), during the Cannes Film Festival, actress Sharon Stone paid tribute to her friend Natasha Richardson during the annual amfAR gala, striving to fight against AIDS, reports People.
Stone, 51, hosted the charity event, which took place at the Hotel du Cap-Eden Roc on Cap d’Antibes.
The actress shed tears when speaking about her friend and amfAR colleague, who died in March after a ski accident.
Stone stated, "This year we lost an angel from our amfAR family. It was one of those random events that leaves you in a state of shock and profound grief. In March the funny, graceful Natasha Richardson was taken from us."
The star also read a word from Richardson’s husband, Liam Neeson, who encouraged everyone to keep up their good work.
The Basic Instinct actress donated $50 000 US to the AIDS cause in honour of Richardson.
