The actress has accepted a role in the film The Sorcerer’s Apprentice with Nicolas Cage, according to a report from Variety.
Bellucci will be playing a sorcerer and the long-lost love of Balthazar Blake, who is being played by Cage.
The film tells the story of a sorcerer who hires an apprentice to help him combat evil forces in modern Manhattan.
Jay Baruchel, Alfred Molina, Teresa Palmer and Toby Kebbell have also joined the cast.
Filming is currently taking place in New York under the direction of Jon Turteltaud (National Treasure).
The film is set for a release on July 16, 2010.
In the meantime, Monica Bellucci will be sharing the screen with Sophie Marceau in Ne te retourne pas, which premieres in Cannes this weekend. The film will hit French theatres on June 3.
