In an interview with the New York Times, director and screenwriter Quentin Tarantino revealed that he is planning a sequel to Inglorious Basterds.
"I have a half-written prequel ready to go if this movie’s a smash," he said.
Inglorious Basterds will open on August 21, but will first premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.
The story takes us into German-occupied France during World War II. Soldiers team under the name "The Basterds" to make life tough for the Nazis.
The film boasts an impressive cast, including Brad Pitt, Diane Kruger, Eli Roth, Mike Myers, B.J. Novak, Cloris Leachman, Julie Dreyfus, Samm Levine, Til Schweiger, Michael Fassbender, Maggie Cheung, Melanie Laurent, Daniel Brühl and Samuel L. Jackson, who will act as narrator.
