Dwayne Johnson is in final negotiations with CBS Films to star in the action drama Faster, reports Variety.
Johnson would play an ex-prisoner who seeks revenge on his brother’s killer, 10 years after they were both double-crossed during an armed robbery.
Phil Joanou, who directed the star in Gridiron Gang, will also be working behind the camera for the new project. The script was written by Joe and Tony Gayton.
Johnson’s next film will be Tooth Fairy with Ashley Judd, Julie Andrews and Billy Crystal. The film is set to open on January 22, 2010.
