Just like Wolverine, Deadpool, played by Ryan Reynolds, will have his own movie, announced The Hollywood Reporter.
Ryan Reynolds will resume his role as mercenary Wade Wilson, who becomes the mutant Deadpool after being transformed by the Weapon X project. He becomes disfigured as a result, and is driven mentally unstable. The film, entitled Deadpool, will uncover the background of the character, and will allow him to regain his ability to make wisecracks again, which he couldn’t do in Wolverine.
The project is being developed by 20th Century Fox in collaboration with Marvel Comics. It was also mentioned this week that there would be a follow-up to the film Wolverine.
In the meantime, Ryan Reynolds will be starring opposite Sandra Bullock in The Proposal on June 19.
