May 5, 2009 – Christina Aguilera’s First Movie

Christina Aguilera will make her big screen debut in the film Burlesque.

The singer will have her first acting role in the film Burlesque, reported Variety magazine.

Burlesque is a contemporary musical that was written and produced by Steven Antin. The screenplay was rewritten by Susannah Grant, screenwriter of Erin Brockovich.

Aguilera will play an ambitious girl from a small town that possesses an amazing voice. She finds love, family and success in a strip club in Los Angeles.

Filming will begin at the end of the year.

Aguilera has never played in a film yet, but her voice has been used in the animated film, Shark Tale.
