R.E.M. to Re-Release Reckoning

To mark the 25th anniversary of Reckoning, R.E.M. is re-issuing the album.

Pitchfork.com reports that the group R.E.M. will be re-releasing their second album on June 23 under the label I.R.S./A&M/UMe.

The project commemorates the disc’s 25th anniversary, and for the occasion, fans of the American group will be pleased to know that a second disc will be included in the package.

The bonus album will feature a recording of an R.E.M. concert at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago on July 17, 1984, when they sang songs off Reckoning, as well as songs from other albums, including Gardening at Night and Radio Free Europe.

Last November, R.E.M.’s classic album, Murmur, was re-released.
