The Return of Sugar Ray

After a six-year hiatus, Mark McGrath and his band Sugar Ray, are making a comeback with the album Music For Cougars.

Billboard.com reports that Sugar Ray will be releasing the album Music For Cougars on July 21. The album marks the Newport Beach group’s return after six years of absence.

Sugar Ray singer, Mark McGrath, explained that the break was a result of changes in the music industry, and that it was time for the California group to move onto other things. McGrath also landed a gig as the host of the TV show Extra.

It seems that Josh Abraham, director of Pulse record company, managed to easily convince the band to record a new album. "We got together 21 years ago to make music and have fun. I left ‘Extra’ in September and focused full time on the band and making this record. It’s purely a passion, a labor of love basically making this record," said McGrath.

Boardwalk, the first single off Music For Cougars, is set for distribution in May.
