Star Trek Not Opening in Mexico

Paramount Pictures has decided not to release the film Star Trek in Mexico due to the swine flu.

According to E! News, Star Trek will not be shown in Mexican theatres, which have been momentarily shut down as a result of the swine flu outbreak.

Paramount Pictures made the announcement yesterday (April 30), but the studio is uncertain when the highly-awaited summer film, expected out on May 8, would be seen by moviegoers in Mexico.

Star Trek is not the only film being affected by the flu pandemic. Sony Pictures also postponed the opening of Angels & Demons, changing the date from May 15 to June 12. Additionally, Terminator Salvation is set to open on July 31 instead of June 5.
