The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Don Johnson has agreed to play the role of a porn director in the comedy Born to Be a Star, co-written by Adam Sandler.
Directed by Tom Brady (The Comebacks), the film tells the story of a young man from a small town who discovers that his parents were porn stars in the 70s. This will motivate him to head to Hollywood to become the biggest actor in adult films.
Johnson, a director whose career is faltering, will give the rookie a chance. Christina Ricci will play his naive girlfriend, while Stephen Dorff will play a porn star named Dick Shadow. Edward Herrmann and Tyler Spindel are also part of the cast.
Meanwhile, Don Johnson is also starring in When in Rome, which is expected in theatres on August 7.
