According to Variety, Denzel Washington is currently negotiating to star in the drama Unstoppable by Tony Scott.
If he accepts, it will be the fifth film collaboration for the two men following Crimson Tide, Man of Fire, Dejà Vu, and the film set to open in June, The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3.
Washington would be playing a knowledgeable engineer who teams with a young train conductor to stop a runaway train carrying chemicals and toxic materials. Filming is set for the fall.
The script was written by Mark Bomback (Race to Witch Mountain) and was inspired by a true story.
As mentioned, Washington will star in The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 on June 12. He has also wrapped up shooting The Book of Eli, due out on January 15, 2010.
