Actor Demetri Martin (Analyze That, The Rocker) has been cast opposite Brad Pitt in the film Moneyball, reported Variety magazine.
Directed by Steven Soderbergh, the film is an adaptation from Michael Lewis’s book on Bill Beane, general manager of the Oakland Athletics major league baseball team. He assembled a competitive baseball team with a payroll lower than that of other major league teams.
David Justice and Scott Hatteberg, retired members of the Oakland Athletics, will make an appearance in the film, while Daryl Strawberry and Lenny Dykstra will retell their experience working with Beane. Filming will begin in June.
Demetri Martin has a role in the upcoming Ang Lee film, Taking Woodstock, which will be released on August 14.
