A Third Da Vinci Code Film

The third Da Vinci Code book hasn’t even been published yet, but Columbia Pictures is planning a third film of the franchise.

According to Variety, author Dan Brown has finished writing the third novel of the series, The Lost Symbol.  Five million copies of the book are expected to hit store shelves on September 15.

Columbia Pictures already plans to adapt the third book into film.  For now, no details are available on the project, including whether Tom Hanks will be returning to his role as Robert Langdon, a religious symbols expert.

The Da Vinci Code, which was first released in 2006, earned more than $758 million at box offices around the world.  The sequel, Angels & Demons, will be released on May 15.
