Variety reports that actor Toby Kebbell (RocknRolla, Match Point) will join the cast of Disney’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.
In the film, based on the popular segment from the animated classic Fantasia, Kebbell plays Drake Stone, an illusionist who joins forces with the evil sorcerer Horvath (Alfred Molina) to gain ultimate powers. The action takes place in contempory New York where the wizard (Nicolas Cage) searches for an apprentice (Jay Baruchel).
The Sorcerer’s Apprentice is scheduled to be released on July 16, 2010.
Toby Kebbell will also be starring in the film Chéri alongside Michelle Pfeiffer, set to hit theatres on June 26.
