The Underworld star has joined the cast of the sequel to the hit movie Twilight.
Sheen is set to play Aro, the head of the dangerous Italian vampire clan, the Volturis, in The Twilight Saga: New Moon.
The film’s cast also includes Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Dakota Fanning, Nikki Reed, Chaske Spencer, Bronson Pelletier, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon, Tyson Houseman and Jamie Campbell Bower. The movie will be shot on location in Vancouver.
In the second film of the series, Bella (Stewart) is devastated when Edward (Pattinson) leaves. She is soon consoled by Jacob (Lautner), who pulls her into the world of werewolves, the fierce enemies of the vampires.
New Moon is scheduled to hit theatres on November 20.
Michael Sheen will also be starring in the film Alice in Wonderland, being released on March 5, 2010.
