Ziggy Marley Making Music for Children

Ziggy Marley has recorded two discs for a younger audience.

Ziggy Marley, son of reggae legend Bob Marley, is currently in the studio recording two albums to be released this year, one month apart from each other.

The first album, Family Time, is set for a release on May 5, and Marley describes the music as being "family music." It will include collaborations with guest artists, including Paul Simon, Jamie Lee Curtis, Willie Nelson and Jack Johnson. Marley’s mother, Rita, and sister, Cedella, also participated on the album.

"So this is what this record is about, really, is the beginning of a discussion with children and families to make the future a better place for…the ‘world’ family. But it starts with our own families," the singer told Billboard.

His second album, which is set for a June release, will contain his father’s songs, but set to more refined musical arrangements. Original recordings of Bob Marley’s voice will also be heard on the disc.
