White Wine Is Harmful to Teeth

Just like red wine, white wine can cause teeth to have dark stains.

Dental medicine researchers have discovered that even though it is not so obvious, white wine also harms teeth like red wine.

They compared two groups of cows’ teeth, whose surface resembles that of humans. The group of teeth soaked for an hour in white wine and then in black tea had darker stains than the group of teeth soaked in water and black tea.

The acids found in white wine form grooves that allow chemical products in beverages, such as tea or coffee, to penetrate deeper into the teeth.

The best method to prevent stains is to use toothpaste with a bleaching agent.
