The group Nickelback was a shining star during the Juno Awards gala last night.

The rock group Nickelback swept the evening of the 38th Juno Awards ceremony, which took place yesterday (March 29) at GM Place in Vancouver, reports Cyberpresse.ca.

During the evening, Nickelback went home with three awards out of the five categories in which they were nominated. The Vancouver band won Album of the Year, Group of the Year and the Juno Fan Choice Award.

In the Album and Group of the Year categories, Nickelback was up against Montreal group Simple Plan. For the Juno Fan Choice award, the band contended with Celine Dion, Feist, Hedley and The Lost Fingers.

Chad Kroeger and his bandmates were very surprised and pleased to have won the fan’s choice trophy.
