The actor recently broke up with the president of Jimmy Choo shoes, Tamara Mellon. The two met in London in 2007, when Slater was starring in a theatre production.
Mellon lives in London with her daughter, and recently travelled to Los Angeles to see Slater. Rumours of an engagement began circulating, but the couple finally decided that a long-distance relationship would not work.
"We all thought Tamara and Christian were made for each other, but the pressures of their respective careers meant they were spending too much time apart," a source told Britain’s Daily Mail.
The same source added, "Tamara always puts her daughter first and with two businesses – her shoe brand Jimmy Choo and American fashion label Halston – to run as well, it’s all been too difficult. Tamara speaks very fondly of Christian and I’m sure they will stay good friends."
