Mary J. Blige to Work in a Night Club

Mary J. Blige will star opposite Taraji P. Henson in I Can Do Bad All by Myself.

Variety reports that singer Mary J. Blige has signed a deal to star in I Can Do Bad All by Myself, alongside Taraji P. Henson (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button).

Tyler Perry (House of Payne, Madea Goes to Jail) will direct the project, which is adapted from his play of the same name. His character, Madea, will make an appearance in the film.

Blige will play a manager and singer at a night club. She will also be the best friend of Henson’s character.

Blige has some acting experience under her belt. She was seen on The Jamie Foxx Show, Entourage and Ghost Whisperer. She also appeared in the film Prison Song in 2001.

The star will also play musician and singer Nina Simone on the big screen.
