Sting Becomes a Winemaker

Singer Sting will be selling his first bottles of wine this fall.

Sting has become an amateur winemaker and now creates his own Chianti wine right from his Tuscan vineyard.

He plans on producing 30 000 bottles this year from his Figline Valdarno property. His first wines are expected to hit the shelves starting in September.

Sting will produce a DOC Chianti and a Tuscan red wine.

While producing his wines, the singer has kept Tuscany’s agriculture and biodiversity into consideration. "I always use traditional methods – no pesticides," he told Starpulse.com.

Sting and his wife, Trudie Styler, bought the vineyard and the surrounding woodlands in 2002. They have already sold honey and olive oil under the "d’Il Palagio Sumner Family" name.
