According to Starpulse, the Scottish actor wants to stop the person who is using his identity on the Internet.
The online fraudster is pretending to be the Trainspotting star on several social networking sites, including Twitter and MySpace.
A spokesperson for the actor contends that McGregor is not the author of several messages appearing on the Web. He explained, "Ewan does not have a Twitter site or one on MySpace either. Someone is just making it all up. People monitor his movements. We are looking into taking action to have the Twitter site removed."
We can next see Ewan McGregor in the film I Love You Phillip Morris, which opens in theatres later this year.
