According to Starpulse.com, Barton may be returning to television.
The actress is currently in talks to star in Melrose Place. The former O.C. star, who played Marissa Cooper, left the series in 2006.
The new series is based on Melrose Place, which aired between 1992 and 1999. The show starred Heather Locklear and several others. Director Davis Guggenheim will be working on the new series.
