Barenaked Ladies Lose Their Singer

Steven Page has left the band Barenaked Ladies after 20 years as their lead singer.

The singer and guitarist left the band on good terms. "These guys are my brothers. We’ve grown up together over the past twenty years. I love them and wish them all the best in the future," Page wrote on the band’s Web site.

The Barenaked Ladies will continue working together without the singer, while Page has plans for solo projects.

Last year was a difficult year for the Canadian band.  In July, Steven Page was arrested for drug possession.  In August, Ed Robertson escaped death when his private plane went down in a forest.  Three other passengers on the plane also escaped serious injury.

During their 20 years together, Barenaked Ladies recorded 11 albums, and earned a Juno Award.
