Duffy Reigns at the BRIT Awards

Duffy was the big winner at the recent BRIT Awards.

Last night (February 18), the BRIT Awards ceremony was held in London’s Earl’s Court.  Duffy, of Wales, left the event with three trophies, reports Billboard.com.

The singer, who shot to fame in England in 2008, was awarded for her album, Rockferry, and her song Warwick Avenue during the evening.

The Nashville rock band, Kings of Leon, were named best international group, and won the international album of the year award for Only by the Night.

Katy Perry was named best international singer, beating competition from Beyonce, Gabriella Cilmi, Pink and Santigold.

The prize for best British song was determined by call-in votes, and was given to Girls Aloud for The Promise.

The ceremony opened with a performance by U2 of the song Get on Your Boots.
