According to The Hollywood Reporter, Eckhart is in final negotiations to join Johnny Depp in the feature film.
Last week, we announced that Amber Heard had signed on for the film. Actor Richard Jenkins has also joined the cast for the movie, which begins shooting on March 30 in Puerto Rico.
Adapted from a Hunter S. Thompson novel, Rum Diary tells the story of a journalist, Paul Kemp (Depp), with a drinking problem, who meets Sanderson (Eckhart), a wealthy man who believes that anything can be bought. Troubles begin when Kemp has an affair with Sanderson’s girlfriend (Heard).
This year, we can see Aaron Eckhart with Jennifer Aniston in the romantic drama Traveling, although no release date has been announced.
